SFP (Small Form-Factor Pluggable) module also called transceiver or “MiniGBIC” allowing the fibre links to be adapted to the network equipment such as switch, router etc. The optical connector is the LC type. These different modules allow speeds of : 100Mbps or 1,000 Mbps. They are compatible with most manufacturer`s network equipment. They are hot-swappable in network products such as switches which are equipped with places intended for this. They allow you to cover distances up to 40 Km at 100Mbps and 10 Km at 1,000 Mbps. For your information, it is the switch which determines the type of module to be used.
