It happened last month in Lambersart, as part of our GO4BLUE sustainable development program.💙
For the third consecutive year, GIGAMEDIA participated in an urban renaturation project, alongside Beeforest, a specialist in planting natural, participatory, and educational urban microforests; NEOTERA, a specialist in biodiversity, sustainable development, and climate change adaptation; and the company ADIPAP, also a stakeholder in the project.🤝
Together, we planted local tree species with the aim of encouraging biodiversity and nature preservation, but also to involve younger generations in a sustainable and educational project.🌍
Part of both a global and local approach, and with a real social dimension, this virtuous initiative created:
🌳A carbon sink, with 1,150 trees planted, prohibited from clearcutting for 99 years, over an area of 380m²
🐦 A biodiversity refuge, creating natural habitats for different plant and animal species
😮💨 A natural air quality regulator, helping to filter pollutants and produce oxygen, contributing to a more pleasant urban climate
🥵 Cool islands, providing shade and evaporating water, thus contributing to a more pleasant urban climate
A video look back at this environmental and social initiative led by the City of Lambersart, in which we are proud and happy to have been able to participate
